About Us

Our story

In 1972, founder of Pro Soccer, Mike Tatikian, at the age of 20 was stepping into his first professional game against the best soccer players in Lebanon. Young, quick, strong and zealous, Mike made it a point to be the best soccer player in the league. Unfortunately, 3 years later Lebanon was going through a civil war and Mike and his wife decided to pack up and leave for Los Angeles, CA in 1975. The bold move to move to Southern California combined with his passion for soccer led Mike to eventually open his first store in 1991.

With two healthy kids (Tony and Lara Tatikian), the 1980’s for Mike was a combination of doing electrical work and playing soccer recreationally in a small local league. At this stage of his life, Soccer was not a priority anymore and making sure his family lived a comfortable life was the only thing on Mike’s mind.
Mike decided to devote his extra time coaching his kids in soccer and helping them learn the meaning of team sports.

As Tony picks up the game of Soccer weaving his way through school and playing the game he dearly loves, Mike realized every time Tony needed soccer gear, they had to drive 30 miles to get to a soccer store.
In 1991, Mike decided to put his LIFE SAVINGS into a soccer store in Pasadena, CA (located on the famous street Colorado Blvd). Within months, Pro Soccer established itself as a household name, delivering high performance soccer gear to the local community.
At the time, stores like Big 5 and Sports Chalet were not selling any soccer gear, but sooner or later, every sporting good store was about to sell soccer gear.
